OMM ORCHESTRA CAMP

The annual Orchestra Camp provides a platform for like-minded young musicians to come together in a week of music-making. First started in 2011 as a combined schools string camp, it has since evolved into an intensive orchestra training programme where young musicians explore symphonic repertoire with guidance from professional orchestral performers and OMM’s principal players. Campers also have the chance to participate in activities including games, repertoire reading sessions and music-related workshops, while giving back to the community by sharing their musical experiences with others.

Since its inception, the Orchestra Camp has provided over 130 young musicians from 31 schools and institutions a chance to rehearse and perform in a symphony orchestra. Held at the School of the Arts, the Orchestra Camp is planned and run by a student committee, formed by leaders from various schools who receive guidance in leadership and management skills from the OMM committee.
