Lim Yan, recipient of the National Arts Council 2006 Young Artist Award joins the orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular First Piano Concerto, which was once deemed unplayable. Similarly, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet did not meet with immediate success but is now one of his best-known works.  The orchestra closes the concert with one of the most popular 20th century symphonies -  Prokofiev's Fifth, which according to the composer, "glorifies the strength and beauty of the human spirit"

The Orchestra performs Mahler's epic Resurrection Symphony, which reflects the composer's philosophical struggle with life and death, and ends with what is probably the most magnificent choral finale of all time. The Orchestra will be joined by the United Kingdom-based Rebecca Chellappah, the Queensland Festival Chorus directed by Alison Rogers, and the Singapore Festival Chorus directed by Nelson Kwei for this epic work.
Talented Multiple-Award Winning Singaporean violinist See Ian Ike also stars in Max Bruch's well loved Violin Concerto.

In celebration of Chopin's 200th Birth Anniversary, the Orchestra presents, in collaboration with The Chopin Society of Hong Kong, both of his Piano Concertos in a concert not to be missed by all Piano Aficionados and Chopin Fans! Two 1st Prize Winners of the prestigious Hong Kong International Piano Competition will perform the poetic and scintillating solo parts.

The orchestra commemorates Mahler's 150th Birth Anniversary with the Symphony that started it all. Nicknamed the "Titan", Mahler's First Symphony contains many themes derived from his first song cycle, Songs of a Wayfarer. Singaporean flautist Cheryl Lim and harpist Laura Peh join the orchestra in Mozart's evergreen Concerto for Flute and Harp.
